KATIE Piper dazzled on the red carpet last night — just three years after her devastating acid attack. The 27-year-old looked ravishing in a plum one-shoulder dress at the TV Choice Awards.
In 2008 her ex-boyfriend arranged for acid to be thrown at the former model, leaving her with third-degree burns and the worst injuries her medical team had ever seen.
Katie lost her eyelids, half of her left ear and most of her nose. Her eyes, mouth, tongue, oesophagus, arms, hands, neck and cleavage were also badly burned.
But last night she looked almost unrecognisable as she appeared at the bash looking stunning and happier than ever.
The numerous operations and procedures she has undergone since appearing on a documentary about the effects of the attack, Katie: My Beautiful Face, have paid off.
Brave Katie now runs her own successful charity to help people living with disfigurement — The Katie Piper Foundation.
Katie said: "I'm so happy with how the foundation is going and last week was so great with Simon (Cowell) coming, and we raised so much money."
But the humble lady doesn't take all the credit for her many achievements.
She added: "It's not just me, I have such a great team around me, and we have so many great members of staff and amazing volunteers who give up their time to support the foundation.
"I'm so lucky to have such a great network of family and friends."

Britain’s back-stroke specialist, Liam Tancock, was born on May 7, 1985, in Devon. Tancock has represented Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and has been a back-stroke medallist from 2005-2009. Tancock has a swimming career spread over eleven years.

The 25-year-old Tancock, made a debut to his national swimming career in 2001 at the British Championships, where he won a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke meet, in a time of 26.83 seconds. He finished seventh in the 100m back-stroke in 58.97seconds and 11th in 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2:10.40 minutes. He also ended 22nd in the 200m back-stroke. His performance was excellent for a debut, but not good enough to qualify him to higher levels of swimming competitions, so he did not participate in any other event that year.

Ok, ok, so the pictures here don't come from the movie! I just wanted to post some sexy pictures of this guy who had me at hello when I first gazed at him in the first installment of Spiderman!

Well, I didn't really care for him in the Spiderman series since I'm not into action movies, so it was in 'Milk' and 'Pineapple Express' where I really saw the hunk in him! Those lovemaking scenes he had with Sean Penn in Milk were just raw and really authentic - thanks to the director Gus Van Sant. Anyhow, I learn later on that he also is an academic, with a fancy degree in an Ivy League school and a passion for poetry. OMG, how sexy is that! If only my English professor in college were this sexy and cute, I don't know, I would shifted courses!

He did a really good job as Aron Ralston in 127 Hours. He was on the screen almost 90% of the time so it was a good thing having a pretty yet manly face on the big screen. Loved it! And he's hosting the Oscars! How scary is that? Well, good luck James and congratulations on your first Oscar nomination - really well deserved!

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH THE MOVIE 'DEVIL'

I know most of M. Night Shyamalan's latest work have been stupendously ridiculous of late, so when I watched this movie, I was not really expecting much. So, when you have low expectations on a movie, usually, you go out of the moviehouse happy since the only place to go is up! This movie is much much better than the other latest works of Shyamalan so I suggest you make a beeline to the cinema and catch this scary movie! Here are my reasons why:

1. Like most Shyamalan movies, there are no tricks of using sound or images to scare you. He makes a sense of dread, which you can really feel in this movie. The dread really builds up towards the end so keep your eyes open!

2. The feeling of claustrophobia. Most of the action happens in an elevator so expect to feel a little bit tight and queasy. There's just no escaping the horror!

3. I am a Catholic and I believe in the existence of God and the devil. I don't actually know the religious background of Shyamalan, but you could really see that his sensibilities are very close to that of Catholics. In the script, everything was explained as to why they were there and why everything had to happen. It really follows what most Catholics believe of in terms of the devil and the punishment for our sins.

Dear Black Man,

I met someone on Black Planet website. We went out for dinner and immediately hit it off. I kissed on the first date ... ugggggh… I couldn’t resist because there were so many sparks. The conversation was great. Dinner was excellent. It was amazing time. After the date he never called. I finally got a hold of him about 5 days later and asked him to go to dinner. Instead I went to his place and he cooked for me. Guess what happened? Yes ... we "did it." It was kind of planned on both of our parts I guess we both really wanted it and I know better. It does seem like it was a little bit too soon for you to sleep with him since you really like him and there was no mutual clarity in your situation. I know it can be hard to control your emotions especially when you have strong feelings for someone and the sexual energy is in the air. My question to are did he have a good reason for not calling you after your first date? You don’t want to be hung out there like a cat on a string chasing this guy and set up for disappointment and possibly just be used for sex. In this case I would wait to see if he reaches out to you. Crop Circles = UFO?

Another 'Crop Circle' was being discovered, and this time, its in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. How cool is that! So, I'll write bout this phenomenon now. Enjoy.

A local farmer, Tukiman, discovered this crop circles, last Sunday (23/01/2010) at 6 a.m. Well, yeah, no one knows where this crop circles really come from. Some of them believe that this crop circles were made as an UFO landed on this particular area. Some of them believe that some artists made it up. Well, some news just interviewed Yogyakarta's artists, and some of them really believe that this crop circles look like a type of art, land art, they said, in which they use natural materials from the environment. But as to speak, they themselves can't make such a great art, in 2 hours (as estimated, from 21.00 - 23.00, as the owner of the farm heard some kind of weird plane sound during those hours). Wonder how big it is? Its 70m in diameter.

So, what is crop circle, really?

The most famous explanation for crop circle is the presence of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object). Many people really believe that UFO landed on their farm (or simply carving these marks, not really clear in some ways), leaving this crop circles behind. Cause, how can such a huge art made only for several hours, even for some several seconds!

Some people believe that its the work of art. Artists try to make the land as their canvas. The most widely known method for a person or group to construct a crop formation is to tie one end of a rope to an anchor point, and the other end to a board which is used to crush the plants. More recent methods include the use of a lawn roller. Some of business also see it as a method of advertising.

Well, some of the pranksters also love to make crop circles, just to make the world amazed and stunned by their pranks, or so. But also, there's a myth about a farmer who was greedy enough that he didn't want to pay mower, and swore that he preferred a demon to do the work. And the next morning, he saw his farm had been harvested, but in some weird manners. Take a look at this picture, the 'Mowing Devil'.

Well yeah, extreme weather may be one of the cause too, such as spinning winds, small whirlwinds or tornadoes caused the crop circles by its sudden swirling pressure.

Crop circles had been phenomenal since a long time back, even before the invention of camera. In modern times, crop circles were often seen during the 20th century, around 1960s - 1990s. This phenomena occurs all over the world, in the USA from 1920, in Europe from the mid 20th century and in Africa, Canada, Australia, Central & Southern America, Russia in 1970, and Japan in the late 70’s, though 90% of those were located in southern England.
